the ending of a year

Well, pals-- it's finals week at the ending of my freshman year. My how time flies! Here are pictures of some of the fun happenings of dead week:

A bicycle built for twooooooooo

The beginning of a new tradition-- movie night on the lawn! Monsters INC has never looked as good as it did when projected on the front of Parkplace Apartments. :)

The semi-annual church picnic at Happy Hollow Park

Lots of eating and relaxing on the lawn....

Preparing the MUY BIEN ice cream toppings for Parent Night on Thursday.....another event that will hopefully become a tradition.

So the ending of this year is kind of sad because we're losing 17 people from our group. 17 people who have each, in some way, defined Purdue to me. BUT, as a friend recently reminded me, instead of being sad at the thought of change, we should be thankful for the awesome year that we had and for the fact that we were even able to be here! And I truly am.... this has been a year of fun and learning that I'll never forget!

I' m also pretty confident that next year, although different, will be amazing as well. We've got an awesome group down here and I know God is going to work great things in it if we'll let Him!

So....to all my fellow final-takers out there--good luck studying and have a WONDERFUL summer! :)

this post makes me kind of sad. college was so fun, and the end of the year and losing people just seems so sad. :( if you need to cry, i'm tired and probably all screwed up hormonally, so call and we'll have a little tear fest together. :)
